“What Was the Truth? German Camps, Polish Heroes” – an informational and educational campaign under the auspices of Andrzej Duda, the President of the Republic of Poland.
“The President of the Republic of Poland appreciates initiatives that are aimed at promoting the true account of the Holocaust and the concentration camp network throughout World War II in German-occupied Poland,” wrote President Andrzej Dera from the Chancellery of the Republic of Poland, in a letter to the Łukasiewicz Institute Foundation.
The goal of the campaign carried out by the Institute is to fight false terminology such as “Polish concentration camps” and to promulgate true information about the Poles and their heroic conduct during World War II. The project is primarily designed to raise awareness among foreign journalists. The Foundation has also created a website in three different languages (jakbylonaprawde.instytutlukasiewicza.pl and jakbylonaprawde.eu in Polish; whatwasthetruth.eu in English; and wiewareswirklich.eu in German) and a publication to be distributed in memorials and museums that are devoted to the history of World War II. A digital package to be circulated among 300 different editorial teams in the US, Germany and the UK will also be created.
